About Me.
I am a graphic designer currently studying at the Sheffield Institute of Arts. I am passionate about music and this resonates in my graphic design work. I aspire to work in the music industry in my future as a graphic designer as this is one of my greatest passions. Other passions of mine include; Playing Sport, Listening to and creating music and using graphic design to make a positive impact on someones life.
From as far as I can remember I've had a passion for music, and have always loved listening to it has so much power in my life, it is the first thing I turn on in a morning and the last thing I listen to before I go to bed and just by listening to a song, it can bring back the feeling you felt the day you first listened to it. When I was 14 I taught myself to play the guitar which opened up a new world for me and changed the way I interpreted music forever. Through school when I started studying graphic design, I knew I wanted to do this as a career. I loved the creativity of it and it was the one lesson that I was always excited to go to. The idea of having something to show for all of the work I had put in gave me great gratisfaction and I always had pride in my work. Because fo my love for music and Graphic Design, I wanted to combine the two things that I loved and from this I have become self aware of the importance of graphic design within the music industry.
From young age I have been passionate about watching on tv and going to see live music. My first gig was Arctic Monkeys at Sheffield Motorpoint arena and since then I have had a desire to see as many as I can. Going to festivals like Leeds/Reading festival, Isle of Wight festival, Tramlines Festival, T in the Park and Radio 1's Big Weekend I was always fascinated by the merchandise that was sold there and always had to buy a T shirt or a jumper at every gig I went to. A dream job for me woud be a designer for these companies and this made me even more interested in doing so.
